Remedying a "Painful" Car Loan Experience
A member had been trying to buy a car since August 31. She described the experience in a post as “very painful” and described how the dealership was trying to "beat her out of some money" in the end. She gave a shout out to the folks at Expree saying “they were so nice, prompt on responding and really just great to work with!!!”
She went on to post on social media that if anyone needs a loan, give Expree an opportunity. She said she doesn’t think they will be sorry.
Mortgage Loan Extension for HVAC
A member of Expree since January 1995 was in need of a new heating/air unit. After looking at her credit, it was discovered her debt to income was 60% before a new loan. She is retired and receives social security.
The mortgage officer was able to extend her first mortgage about 1.5 years and save almost $1,100 per month. In doing this, she will be able to pay off $43,000 in unsecured debt, get a new heating/air system and have some breathing room each month.
Pet Surgery
A member called on a Saturday because of a sick animal needing a surgery later in the week. She didn’t know what she was going to do, but the first call she made was to Expree. She needed $500 to pay for the procedure and Expree was able to help. Our pets are our family and we understand that at Expree.
Dental Emergency
A member woke up with an abscessed tooth and called Expree before she called the doctor or dentist. To many financial institutions, $1,500 would not be worth the time but for Expree, we are happy to meet the needs of someone who has been a member for 22 years.
First Car Buying Experience
A member had an experience with a dealership she described as "not the greatest or the most cooperative", but states Expree made the experience so much better. She was so thankful for Expree "going above and beyond to make (her) first car buying experience a great one!”
Better Rate than Carvana
A couple moved from Frankfort to Louisville. They both had accounts with Expree but when moving the gentleman decided to close his account because it "wasn't convenient." His wife left her account with Expree and convinced him to check with Expree before finalizing with Carvana on a $45,000 car. In so doing, Expree saved them over $8,000 in interest. Carvana approved his AAA score at a 10.09% rate ($750 payment over 84 months) while he was approved here at 5.69% ($650 payment over 84 months). Our loan officer also, explained there are 18 branches in Louisville part of our Shared Branching network.
Home Repair Interest Savings
An older member who has been with us since 1995 contacted our mortgage officer about a HELOC but she needed the money faster than the HELOC process took for some foundation repair. She had taken a personal loan out with the company and when she got the paperwork back she noticed she was going to pay $17,000 in interest over 15 years. When her account was reviewed she had more than enough to do a shared secured since she didn’t want to pay cash. She was sent to a loan officer and they talked for almost 45 minutes. After a few more calls from her, she was able to finalize a 5 year payment and a savings of approximately to $15,000 in interest.
The member was so glad we could help and sorry she didn’t call us first.
Long-time Member Appreciation
A member wanted to make sure everyone knew how much he appreciated Expree. He has been a member since 1985 and now lives in Florida, but has kept all his banking with us. He said it is hard to find words to describe how much he thinks of us and he tells everyone he knows they should bank here. He also wanted to wish everyone Happy Holidays.
New Members from Colorado
Two new members started coming into the lobby because they moved here from Colorado and we are a shared branch, but they soon realized that they needed a local financial institution.
They said they are here with us because everyone is so friendly, they mentioned that more than once.
High-interest Loan Check
A member came through the drive thru with one of those high interest rate loan checks and the teller talked her into coming inside to discuss a loan with us instead. When she sat down with our loan officer we saw she had been a member with us for a few years and has all of her money directly deposited with us. She was terrified that she could not get a loan with us and apologized for “wasting my time” before even starting. The check she was about to cash had a loan interest rate of 36%. She is on disability but lives well within her means, pays her bills and has a credit score of 636. The loan officer was not only able to loan her the money she needed, but was able to lower her rate to 16.5% and lower her payment below 100.00 a month. She left laughing with a huge grin after being told to NEVER cash a check like this from anywhere and told to ALWAYS come back if she needed anything!
