National Changes May Impact 2026 Tax Filings

Two National Changes May Affect Your 2026 Tax Filings and Refunds

USPS Postmark Delays

Due to federal government changes, postmarks may no longer reflect the date you drop off your mail at your local post office. Taxpayers should file electronically, request a manual postmark at the post office counter, or mail early.

Direct Deposit Refunds

Effective April 1, 2026, the name on your tax return must match the name on your bank account to receive a direct deposit refund. Otherwise, a paper check will be mailed. Taxpayers and businesses should review their name and bank account information prior to filing their returns to avoid delays.

To avoid any possible issues, please take a few minutes to review your account for accuracy and make sure we have current information including maiden or married names, nicknames or joint account owner information. Should you have any further questions or need to make changes, please do not hesitate to contact us at hello@expree.org or 502-564-5597.
