Now using SMS Verification
Expree Credit Union is now using SMS and email verification for internet banking logins. After entering your username and password, you will be prompted to enter a verification code from your smartphone or email. You will use this code to complete your login. The text message or email will be sent to the phone number and/or email address provided on your account.
This process is designed to help reduce unauthorized users having access to your account. Increasing the obstacles reduces the chances of your information getting into the wrong hands. The SMS verification adds an additional layer of security and is convenient and easy.
Frequently asked SMS verification questions
SMS verification is relatively straightforward, but that doesn’t mean you won’t have questions. We did our best to think of what’s on your mind and provide answers up front.
Is SMS secure?
SMS verification is more secure than passwords alone. While passwords can easily be stolen, SMS verification requires a hacker to have access to your username, password AND your phone before accessing your data.
What do I do if I haven’t received my SMS verification code?
First, make sure that you have a strong cell phone signal—that’s the most common culprit. Next, confirm your account has the correct phone number associated with it—those sneaky typos can cause big headaches. Lastly, ensure your mobile provider isn’t blocking messages from certain senders or number types.
