Scams and How to Avoid Them
This time of year could bring on an increase in scam attempts and Expree Credit Union wants to remind our members to be alert.
First, know the red flags to look out for.
The most common scams will target you through fake emails, (Phishing) fake texts, (SMSishing) or voice calls (Vishing). These scam attempts will typically ask for you to to click on a link or will ask for your account information. If you aren’t 100% sure of the security of the email or text, call the sender or call a reputable number for that business to confirm. You can report scams to the Office of the Attorney General at 888-432-9257 or file a scam complaint online.
